Purchased in March 2017, rebuild mostly complete by March 2021.
Objective was to preserve the classic appearance while modifying where needed to improve safety and reliability and to make it more compatible with 21st century traffic conditions.

396 engine with 290 heads
Aluminum intake, Chevy Performance
Edelbrock 1906 carburetor
TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission
Eaton 3.73 positrac rear end
Drivetrain by Jim Dulaney, Princeton, Texas
Replaced most AC components with new parts compatible with R134a

Kept bench seat, but changed blue interior to black
Replaced warning lights with Shiftworks gauges for voltage, temperature, and oil pressure. Replaced clock with tachometer.
Replaced seat belts with Morris Classic 3-point belts.

Changed Astro Blue paint to Mulsanne Blue (from 1971 El Camino)

Added Gaylord's Truck Lid

Replaced AM radio with replica of factory AM/FM radio having 180 watts RMS and Bluetooth.

Standard except LED bulbs in dash

Replaced front and rear suspension with QA1 Level 2 (for street use).
Replaced steering box with later model from 1997 Grand Cherokee.
