History
After receiving a call from Angelo a pin-striper (he was going to pinstripe my Conquista), I found out about this El Camino which was out in North Wilmington for sale. Apparently the owner was going to restore it, but time got away from him and it just kept sitting around. I gave it some thought, but kept asking myself what would I do with another El Camino, especially if it could be another Conquista.

Three days passed and I called up the gentleman. He said I was welcome to come out and take a look at the truck. I called a friend of mind and asked would he like to go along with me to see it. He and his girlfriend wanted to come along, so we went out on a Friday evening to check it out.

When we got there I saw that it was a base model El Camino and it was all black, It was literarily a rust bucket. It had front end damage from where it appeared someone tried to squeeze into a tight space that wasn't wide enough and it damaged both front corners. However, the interior was in excellent condition. The owner informs me that he has a perfectly good front clip and a pair of doors. Finding out he had these extra items kinda sweeten the pot for me, so I decided to purchase the 1983 El Camino on June 22, 2011.

While there discussing the car I learn the owner has all kinds of parts for El Caminos, new and used. If I wasn't so interested in getting the truck I would have purchased allthe parts he had, but maybe one day I'll go back and see if he still has everything.
