el camino
Wilderness green. Gm # 48
6 year slow frame on resto.
It was a mess when I bought it. The guy wanted 6100.00 and wound up paying 5500.
Nada guide low end was 7900.00, so figured for an ss it was an ok deal. Drove it home, had good meat, wheels and brakes and straight body.only lived 3 miles away and asked 2 times on the way home if I would sell it.still gotta install a jegs starter heat shield wrap to take care of the heat soak prob from the headers.
1972 chevy el camino (Wilderness green. Gm # 48)

350 ss with a mild herbert cam not sure of the lift but Doesn't sound as much as my 71 which had a 410 lift which is pretty mild but still had a nice sound to it. with Edelbrock, intake, edelbrock 4 barrel, not sure what size .needs
Detailing underhood ( not finished with restoration.still Have To Install Some 3 Stage FLOWMASTERS I've Already purchased,Should Be Better Than The 2 Stage Ones I Had On My 71.also engine # didn't match, they were from a 69 camaro.i know that sometimes on an assembly line they will grab anything to keep the line moving but it's a far stretch to think they had a 69 engine laying around. (Bummer).
New headliner, new door pnls, original bench seat (and I have the original build sheet)from the top of the tank. and protecto plate/w original receipt of 2800. Bucks out the door, with the ss package
It was a mess.new dash pad. Plus rebuilt the guage cluster myself, even sent out my original clock to make it operational again, plus gear indicator needed repair and reverse lights did not work. Still Gotta install carpet, the owner before me found a small rust hole on the floorboard and took out all the carpet to investigate the extent of the damage.2 small spots that I have since fixed with por 15 and glass cloth, just need to get the seat out ,already have carpet, just need install.new auto sound stereo, the guy cut the door panels for speakers,(idiot).put new speakers tucked away behind seat side panels, rebuilt tilt wheel rack and spring,& bearings.and glove box lock.
Factory color as per the paint plate #48 sequoia green, except for the matte black tailgate and ss stripes.plus needed new fender surround trim as the existing were pretty dinged up.new rear bumper, bed surround, door handles, door locks, lock mechanism driverside only, both fender ss and el camino emblems, tailgate trim and ss badge.new windshield.
Stock , posi, 350 th transmission, and still shifts perfect ,chirps when shifting to 2nd.
Stock, still need to change out the air shocks.already handles great, just a cruiser so I don't need all the upgrades.stock preferred.
Wheel and Tire
