Never thought I'd have her at 22 years old but thankfully I married the stepdaughter of my neighbor who is a classic chevy enthusiast. He traded a 68 Nova drag car for this 70 El Camino that was also a drag car housing a 496 stroked. We pulled the engine and sold it and he had a 307 block that had been put together by his stepson. We slowly assembled the motor, including most gaskets, all from his collection of parts in the shop. He gave me a number on the car and within about 4 days of overhaulin style speed my brother-in-law and I had the car on the road. I get complements from cougars and thumbs up from the ******** (of which I am) every day now, a nice change from driving 90s model rice burners.
