History
Built in Dallas in May 1981, with a 4.4 L (267ci at 115hp) engine and GM's Computer Command Control (CCC) emission system. Contrary to popular belief, the 1978-1981 El Camino was an A-body, not a G-body.
Swapped in a 350 bored .30 over, now a 355ci with 325hp. TH350 transmission, unknown gear ratio. 14" tires replaced with 16" Centerline wheels and 225/60/16 tires.

Vehicle has been repainted from "light maroon metallic" with what appears to be a Lexus metallic grey, with racing stripes on the hood and tailgate, red pinstriping. Rear bumper replaced with a roll pan with integrated taillights and brake lights.

In 2021 all exterior and interior lighting upgraded to LED. Swapped in a Dakota Digital VHX gauge system, with tachometer in place of the clock.

In 2022 the front end was completely rebuilt, adding Moog tubular control arms, new sway bar bushings, and KYB shocks. Brakes were done, keeping disk brakes up front and drums in the back. New air shocks in back, future project to replace, add air bags inside the coils and rear sway bar.

The maroon vinyl bench was replaced with unknown, nice black/grey bucket seats. In 2021 center consoles were added. A RetroSound system with satellite and Bluetooth replaced an outdated AM/FM stereo, new speakers added to the corners and console. A dash cap was installed to replace the fabric dash cover hiding the usual cracks.

August 2022 the interior was stripped to bare metal, and sound deadening heat insulation is being installed on doors, floors, firewall, and smugglers box. Replaced the ignition switch and door locks with new, one key fits all.
