Default 68 Heater control replacement

Heater/fan control is sticky and needs replacing with new cables. I Found a possible replacement heater control unit and would like to know how to get my original unit out of the dash. No A/C on this 68. Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on this? Thanks!

I pulled my entire system out of my ‘68 a few months ago when I installed the air conditioning system. Pretty easy, actually. Two screws hold it from the bottom, visible above the radio. The hardest part is pulling the cables from the heater to get it all out. Speaking of which, when the controls are hard to move, 99% of the time it’s the cables that are causing that.

Thanks for the info! My new/rebuilt control head and cables arrived yesterday. I'm up early this morning and will sip some coffee and watch a few videos on the install. Glad to hear it's easier than I thought it would be.
