1978 steering column

Hi, I've done some searching and I'm either not smart enough to know what I'm seeing. I bought this one off of ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-1987-E...kAAOSwX7NdZBJB and it appeared by the title that it would work. I had my mechanic work on installing and he's telling me that there's a plate on the firewall of the existing one but the one I ordered does not. Is there some type of conversion kit I can buy or would I just be better finding someone to rebuild mine? If so, are there any contacts out there that do this for a reasonable rate? Thanks again in advance for any help!

I've bought 2 columns from this guy, and he does a great job of rebuilding them. If you decide to get yours redone, call, don't try to email; he's a bit old school.

thanks for the info, I'm definitely going to look in to it, hoping I can get a refund from EBAY guy.
