Bought an licensed my elky yesterday, today I figure out why Temp gage isn't registering, and A/C clutch isn't engaging. (no power to magnets).
Will provide pics later, but looking forward to a modified restoration, as this is a driving car right now, and love it. 66K original miles. ![]() |

Went out to the local bone yard, LKQ, I was looking for a disk brake set up and ended up finding a 81 El Camino, took some small parts off of it, to enclude the trim below the rear window that was in great shape, cost $4.99, found a 85 Grand Prix and got the rear sway bar off of it, cost $14.99. Also got the fender to raditior braces for $5.00. The window wiper motor w/delay $5.00. Never did find the disk brakes I was looking for, but it was a good day!!

Ran all of the speaker wires, and hooked up the "pre wired" power/ground circuits to the behind the seat addition on Logan`s 64, anchored and wired up the new power drivers seat, and over the weekend "sort of" hung the new headliner. I couldn`t complete the headliner for lack of new trim pieces that I forgot to order
![]() I`m afraid the headliner install is not going to turn out as well as I had hoped. I do not enjoy the interior work so honestly, I`m not very patient or good at it. Since I didn`t finish until "After Midnight" it was thechnically today ![]() Hasbeen ![]()

Two days ago, took it to a local racer who does exhaust work. We took the Sawzall to the old rusty headers and cut them out. Installed a set of factory stock manifolds done up nicely in silver POR and then fabbed up some pipes to connect to the two cats.
Then installed two rear air shocks and new springs. Nice change in handling and the sagging to the right has gone away. Next is to scrape some rust off the rear arms, add some POR and install the sway bar that's been in the garage for two years waiting for its turn. Post script, Friday 7/14: Did a good wire brushing of the rear arms and applied a coat of SEM rust-reformer. Turned out to be only very mild surface rust that looked bad, but cleaned up real nice. Tomorrow we'll see if its ready for a primer and some black POR.

Sillynoid-----------------I like that
![]() Just had to replace one of those on the Ranchero a few weeks ago. But at least I do not have to crawl under the car to get to it.
