Hey All. I`m considering at lest a 100 amp alternator . My Questing is will the stock 78-81 Malibu/El Camino wiring harness handle the extra amps. I have twin electric fans and want to up the amps. Thanks

It's the devices on your vehicle that consume lots of amps that you need to worry about. Short of a big, high wattage car stereo, I can't imagine there's much that I'd worry about. Your fans should be fine as long as you connect them to wiring that's fat enough and properly fused for protection.

That alternator doesn't produce extra power unless its asked to. I use two separate Four Seasons 35879 fan controllers to run my fans, AC compressor turn on (needed to control head pressure) and transmission cooler fan turn on.

No problem with 100 amps ( I'm running a 144 amp version). LIke said, just be sure to use large gauge wires for the fans ( relays too).
