Just bought a '68, really cannot have two.

So the Ex-California '78 GMC Caballero with factory SS package options is for sale.
Running daily driver with Goodwrench 350, Q-Jet, about 70K miles maybe less.
I cannot attest that it is a factory SS, only that it seems to have all the SS options except emblems and stripes. One guy I met called it a "Stealth SS".
350 trans, PS, PB, AC, Tilt steering, factory bucket seats, console, full gauges, decent radio - CD with XM.
Enkei "Basket" wheels with 235/60-15 TA's that should be good for the rest of the summer.

The good, it always runs, and the ONLY rust is a small hole in the passenger side roof.
Been my daily driver for the last five years.
Paint is good enough that I am not hassled, but really should be redone.
Original color was brown with "Camel" interior.
Has Eibach 1" lowering springs, receiver hitch.
Emissions equipment is complete except for the air pump, which I removed.
Have a nice topper for it, all glass is good.

The bad, needs tinkering/restoration of many items.
Interior is tired, took the dash apart trying to track down an intermittent electrical fault, never got it back together.
Seats need reupholstered, whole interior needs to be redone.
Body is "Strait", but some people around here cannot park without touching.
Window gaskets are tired.
Carb needs adjustment for altitude unless you live at a low elevation,
Engine is lazy at 5000', STRONG when I visit California!
AC pump seized up, a shame as it had been converted to the new freon.

Goodies! I have some new parts to go with it.
New headers, never installed.
New blue headliner, sun visors, and carpets.
New fiberglass front spoiler.
New air shocks, never installed.
New 81? grill, turns out it is NOT a direct replacement.

I am sure there is more I am forgetting, best to call me, I am on West Coast time.
Listing here first, prefer to sell whole.
If this does not work I may try Craigslist.
If I cannot get a reasonable price I may pull the engine for another vehicle, then sell the body.
$2,000 for EVERYTHING, I think thats a pretty fair deal.
Clear Nevada title, current registration.
Call for details, if you want to discuss a price less engine, or less some of the goodies.

Price drop, $1500.00, want to et the '68 going!

Price drop, $1500.00, for all of it, got a flat last night and lost one of the TA's.
Had to put the spare on. :mad2:

Do not want to buy any more tires for the '78, only want to get the '68 going!
Need the '78 gone so I can switch insurance to the '68.

Yes, the '78 IS a bit of a project, but at least it runs and is not really rusty.
Great car for anyone with time and enthusiasm.

2 new Yokohama 225/60-15 radial's put on the front this morning.

Buy it, drive it home. :yell:

No further price reduction without subtracting some parts.

Well, OK then! Parts it is.

No response here, nothing but scammers on Craigslist. :banghead:

So look for this one is to be re-listed on the parts for sale forum.

I'm keeping the engine for another project, since I cannot get a decent offer on the whole car.

I've had about six years of good reliable transport from it, including making it from Gardnerville NV to Phoenix AZ in just over six hours one night.
Yes, I said six hours, yes, I would be in jail if the cops had seen me.
Yes, the speedo was well past it's indicated top speed. :sarcasm:

I just cannot get too excited about fighting all that cracking plastic interior trim, and unavailable exterior parts.

I began collecting parts to trick it out, but ended up selling the best when finances got tight.

My free time is pretty limited, so it's good-bye '78, hello '68!
Looks like I can get most ANYTHING I want for a '68.

Not "The same". Now a parts car.

Second post is in the parts section since it seems I would have to give it away whole and I need an engine for my 4x4, 15" wheels for the '68.
