I have a 1982 with the V6. It has that CCC carb and is all original. It is in the shop now as the catalytic converter went bad from that carb dumping to much fuel. The mechanics there are sure the computer is bad. They got a new computer and put the prom chip in from the original computer and it still has problems. Carb has been rebuilt and it still runs way to rich. They do not want to put a new catalytic converter on till they get it running correctly. I know they sell the computers but what about that Prom chip? Where can we find the correct Prom chip for this?

When does the carb run too rich? Before closed loop or after or both? Have the high/low stops been set correctly? AIB and dwell right?

It's one thing to rebuild a CCC, it's another to actually reset/tune it for the engine it's on.

Prom is only functional after closed loop, prior to that it's all on the idle circuits and choke.
