If you're willing, I'd love to know the part numbers you're planning for this. I'm in sort of the same boat and would love to make as much better as I could while I was in there(the trans is having some issues so my intention is not just to replace parts for no reason).I will do filter/fluid/TCC/3rd 4th pres. switch since im in there.
i probably could, good idea ! However I Want this to be last time ever messin w/trans, burnin out kinda, want to be done. FYI - I ordered IAC &TPS from Summit, they had AC/Delco parts, had a shop warn me bout aftermarket junk partsthat could be causing issues @ hand. Process of elimination again Grrrrrr! Keep yous posted. Thank YouIf your trans pan does not have a drain plug, can you add one?
I priced the TCC for 48.00 @ orielly, might have been napa, But will check Summit as they carry some AC Delco parts. Not sure on part # yet but will post when i get there. I stick to genuine gm going forward. I like the drain plug idea.If you're willing, I'd love to know the part numbers you're planning for this. $7.00 ? For that price its a deal ! ThanxI second Wayne's suggestion. I just added one to my 200 4R. Got it at Oreilly's for $7.
Yes, TCC Solenoid. Wow ! 15.00, I'll keep shoppin, chgo. pricing ! Grrrr Thank You !OK,I must have been asleep but what are you calling the TCC ? Are you talking about the TCC "solenoid",if so 48 bucks is too much. I bought one from Transtar here in Raleigh for about 15 bucks. 919-834-2581 ,and they also have sales warehouses thruout the country. Heres another one from Ebay ,TCC Solenoid 2004R / 700R4 / 4L60E / 4L65 Splice in style
Is 15.00 too high ??Yes, TCC Solenoid. Wow ! 15.00, I'll keep shoppin, chgo. pricing ! Grrrr Thank You !
NO. Thats a wow cause so cheap. Keep shopping meant look for better deals than usual local pricing ! Thanx WayneIs 15.00 too high ??
Got it ! Im not namebrand guy usually but @ wits end w/this issue. I tested old part tps , checks ok. Gimme that Engine lite and point me. Aint Got No. I will install a tach. Vital part when you want to check rpm for lock up disengage/brake. I cant tell when i tap brake, drafty windows/road noise , whew. Y'all have helped me alot, old dog learnin new tricks. ThanxDo you really think you're getting US parts just because it has Delco on the title and box ?? Look at where its made . A rep for Delco told me face to face that these parts come from everywhere ! The only way to make sure you are getting a US made part is to go thru the dealer/sellers stock and hope you get US made. The days of getting only US made "genuine" GM parts is GONE ! Transtar is a reputable supplier and used by a ton of trans builders. I put a new solenoid in my trans when I pulled the pan to change filters years ago and it is fine with Transfer part.
Agree. ACDelco outsourced to China (mostly) quite awhile back, not nearly the quality as they once we're.Do you really think you're getting US parts just because it has Delco on the title and box ?? Look at where its made . The days of getting only US made "genuine" GM parts is GONE !
Im about to do TPS/IAC (Standard is namebrand from Summit) TCC in trans next. Tach on way. 👍I have a stepson that absolutely will not listen to that fact. He still goes to the dealer thinking he's getting the real thing ,and there are so many out there that still think like he does.
ACDelco made the move to China more than 30 years ago... I imagine that almost everything we buy for our vehicles (etc., etc.) is. ACDelco was subject of a class action lawsuit a few years back as the box the part came in was labeled "Made In The USA" but the part was stamped "China"... their defense was that the BOX was made in the USAThere's plenty of NOS AC Delco parts on ebay, where if you look at the box, it plainly states 'Made in China'.
