Eddsel, I appreciate your input but can't provide any change. Is that, OK? Seriously, I am trying really hard NOT to open up the trans.

Old Bear, you are spot on with the point "...how the last person inside the trans set the wires up." That's why I'm wondering whether I can check it with a volt-ohm meter?

You could use the B&M Torque converter controller and you get complete control over the lockup from 35 mph to 95 ! I've been running this system for over 10 years and it is great. It is a little expensive ,at about 200 bucks , but it a great system.There are many other ways to cobble a system together but I have had success with this system. You can go to Amazon and do a search for ,B&M torque converter controller, and it will pop up. Its gone up as everything else I see,BUT,it works great.

Don't know if it is a solenoid that makes it downshift? I know that before I pulled mine to install the 5 spd it started failing to downshift intermittently.
