Some nos ones on Ebay starting bid $200 for 5

I was able to source a nice used set here on the forum. One last open question, anyone know what size screws/bolts and nut-serts these take?

I used 8mm OEM bolts (the ones with incorporated washers and corresponding rivnuts or nutserts. If I remember correctly had to drill slightly over 1/2" for the nutsert to slide in.

Prefect, thanks. Sharp truck!
Ecklers has the hooks, but are out of stock currently. Dixie restoration as well as OPGI have the hardware. Dixie is way cheaper. Hope you find them.

Calgun, do you have the Ecklers part number? I don't see the hooks on their website, just the mounting hardware. BTW, the mounting hardware is just off the shelf stuff. No need to pay a lot for them.
Ecklers been out if stock for many years
Nobody is making new ones
I’m unaware if they’ve been out of stock for years as next2last stated. Very possible. Kind of crummy to still sell the hardware, but not the component…. Sorry bout that
Thanks next2last. I'm kinda surprised someone hasn't reproduced them by now. They don't look too difficult to copy.

do you have a hydraulic press and bender?

I don't have either a press or bender. My father was a machinist, and I sure would have been able to make them. Thanks for the diagram!
the cargo hook was also used as a Corvette hood latch but then was superceded by a replacement design that was distinctly taller but otherwise identical
Interesting. Do you know what years? I have a 66, 76, and 86 and all use variations of the spring and pin/plate type latch.
looks like it might be this one, and at a very reasonable $16 too! but don't forget the original part was superceded, the replacement became taller

I'm impressed with your knowledge! I just assumed the same basic design carried over from C2 to C4. If you don't mind the black powder coat finish, those look like good alternatives to originals. I'm guessing $20-$25 each to have them chrome plated.
wasn't me, someone else knew about that and posted it a few years ago. I just did some research and found it. also, you may not need them chromed. see if it's just black powdercoat or paint that comes off

I saw a part number of 55-194970-1 at one time, but it won't come up now if you search it.
