My brother has recently acquired a 78 Black Knight and we're having a problem identifying what is wrong with the gauges. They gauges work fine until you turn on the headlights... they all peg to the top when the lights are on. Also, when the regular lights are on, the high beam indicator is illuminated. When the brights are on, the indicator is not illuminated.

Any advice?
Thanks!

Try turning on the lights then push on the lower RH corner of the to see if there is any difference, there is a connector mounted to the dash in that area. Another area to look at that I have seen before is the ground wire on the headlight switch itself gets corroded or damaged.

Check just above the parking brake at the corner of the dash. The ground wires for the dash all connect to the stud with a 10mm nut. Make sure they are connected and tight.
