64-64 El Camino Rolling Chassis & Drivetrain
FOR SALE - In a few weeks, I will be removing and offering for sale the rolling chassis from my 65 El Camino project - asking $950.00. The frame is in good condition. It’s from a California truck with only surface rust. The sale will include the 283 engine, TH350 transmission and 10 bolt rear end. Condition of the drive train components is unknown. It was non-operational when I bought the truck from a towing company lien sale. The engine heads have roller rockers and are clean (no sludge).
The frame is a direct fit for 64-65 El Camino and Station Wagon. I understand that it can be modified to fit A Body cars by shortening the rear of the frame. From my observation, it appears that it would be easy to cut off the rear cross member and a section of the frame and re-weld the cross member.
The carb and distributor shown in the picture do not go with the sale. The purchaser will be required to pick the unit up in Justin, Texas or, I will deliver within 150 miles for $100. If you're interested, it's possible I can deliver the chassis to Belton.
