Figured it was time for some kind of update. The '67 has a new place to sleep when not going down the track...

Finally purchased 5.6 acres yesterday and plans are to build a 40x60 metal/pole barn w/living quarters. It will house a two-post lift and assorted equipment to support my habits during retirement. Picked up a couple of '65's to tinker with when not racing.

The blue truck came out of AZ while the red one from Colorado via NY.

Sorry folks...life got in the way and I have not been on the site in quiet a spell. Finally finished my building and I retired the first of this year. You are all probably used to my wild swings by now...I decided I had enough of the racing bug and quit late 2019. The El Camino is finally going back on the street where I can still enjoy it. Slowly removing race parts and replacing them with suitable components. That's still good. We all have to make changes. You have two very beautiful El Caminos. I love the way you have built them. Great job.

Thanks - The '67 is the only remaining El Camino in the stable now. I've put a new Detroit Locker in the diff with 3.55 gear. Could'nt talk myself into the LS swap considering all the labor that would entail, so I opted to use a Gen 1 383 I had on hand. It is really too much compression for street duty, but I did a cam swap and will tweak the timing...we'll see how it goes. Also using a TH350 so everything would bolt right in.

Fired it this morning and took it down the road and back. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the exhaust note is at idle and cruising...the mufflers are Flowmaster FX series. It does have a bark when tromped on. Looks like I can go ahead and put the hood back on. Still waiting on the front sway bar.
