Just got a '68 with two sets of "Keystone" Old School mags.

Money is a little tight after purchase, but the old tires are no good.

Currently has 205/70-14's, they seem a bit small.
I think the rims are 7" or 8" wide.

Want the speedo to be accurate, since red attracts black & white!

Will probably go to 15" later, but for now the cheap way out is to stay with 14".
Will probably sort the best four rims and polish them up.

So, a little taller and as much wider as I can get in 14"?

We have a "Tire Rack" store in Reno, not too far away.
Too bad their on-line store sucks for what I am trying to decide.

try a 225/70R14, should fit wheelwells, and be within 2-3 mph on speedo

old scool size would be a G or H R70-14

Fits the wheel wells perfect.

According to my GPS the speedo is right on.

Wont pull 1g on the skid pad though.:dontknow:

As it sits now, a bit rough.

Looks like I will be polishing and using these wheels for now.

Current tires are 205/70-14, a bit small.

My 68 has the SS 14x7" wheels.
I have 245/60/14's
back in the day there were severl choices in 14" now you pretty much limited to BFG's or a Hoosier tire in that size range. About 155.00 to 200.00 respectively.
I just couldn't justify sticking with a 14" wheel, so now the search is on for some 15X10 Draglites with 5.5" of bs and a 295/50/15 M/T ET Street Radial.

14's Are a bad idea..if you get a flat, dont expect any tire shop to have anything to fit the car...too many headaches, and the extreme prices make it a bad investment.
