Since the Camino is closer to "done", my dad {he's also 68} and I are getting the car ready for the LSA/6L90E transplant.

@ 87ls5.3 : It's supercharged, I'd say 2018-19 Cadillac CTS V.
Insane power! That's gonna be interesting in that '68.

@kat0069 , '67-69 RS/SS....my all time favorite car. Lovely car.

That's gonna be fun! What year did it come out of?

Joe
2014 sir, about 80 HP less than a '19, but should still be a beast.

This is the engine bay as it sits now, with the 327 and 200 4R from the Camino pulled out. Gonna put an under dash booster on it and clean up the firewall.

I've got a full QA1 set up for the front end, keeping the factory front subframe.

Well, couple shot of the Camaro. The drivers floor is in GOOD shape, got it cleaned up, wire wheeled and coated with POR 15.

This picture shows how well the larger tunnel for the 6L90E is going to fit up.

This picture also shows that the passengers floor didn't fare NEARLY as well as the drivers. I have purchased a passengers partial pan and plan on replacing it forward of the seat mount plate. There is a small place in the rear foot area that needs a tiny patch as well, but is otherwise solid.

Bought an air nibbler and flange / punch tool. I need to get a 75/25 gas bottle for my welder and get to work I guess!

@kat0069 Wow. Amazing progress. Now I forget what the term is but I’ve seen vids of folks hiding all wires, relays etc. for that clean engine only look. Lots of work no doubt.

Pls post a link to the “other” site if you have a build thread there. I’m active in the Camaro5 forum. I have a ‘14 Camaro SS/RS...sadly, auto with the L99. Keep up the great work!

We've got it torn down to this. Crusty bit in pretty good shape over all.

I got ALL the computers and wiring (along with shifter and pedals) out of the original car, but I'm most likely going with a Holley set up so I can tune individual cylinders and run the transmission.

LSA waiting to slide into place so we can fit the new trans tunnel.

While the engine is stripped down, the plan is to install a Texas Speed stage 3 cam and anything else it needs to live in the engine and work with the transmission.

Later on it gets a completely smooth firewall and down tubes from the firewall to the frame horns. Then completely custom inner panels in the engine bay.
