I searched for this and didn't find anything current.I did call NPD among many others and it seems that the drip rail molding w/vinyl top are no longer available. I did try installing a new set but they are a no go... Pretty sure they would work just fine without the vinyl.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thank you, Doug

thank you for the reply's. Unfortunately, the parts from OPGI and all others do not work with the vinyl top. The gap where it fits over the vinyl and the metal drip rail isnt large enough. it easily fits without the vinyl top but not with. I suspect the fix is to try and modify the molding by increasing the gap or cutting the vinyl back therefor not getting it clamped down by the molding.?

Ahhhhhhh….welcome to my world. I have been fighting this issue for more than a year for my 1969 SS. I have purchased 3 re-pop sets and two sets of used OEM trim that I am not totally sure came from a vinyl top car. None of them fit. I took the issue to a well known Corvette restoration specialist here in Miami and he sent a set of trim from my collection off to a trim restoration specialist and they came back beautiful, but, in the wrong shape. He sent it back out and came back in a condition where Dave "thinks" they will fit. I am waiting for him to get space in his shop to let me drop off the car for installation. Im still unsure if I will have a "HAPPY ENDING"...Here is my thread on the topic https://www.elcaminocentral.com/showthread.php?t=232050. There is also some discussion on my build thread, link below..it is towards the end.
Please let me know if you find a resolution, in case this fix with the Corvette guy does not work for me.
Best regards......

Thanks for the response cquester5, my body guy thinks we may try to modify a new set by grinding down a bit of the backside of the molding in order to get it over the rail and vinyl. Maybe even use some 3M heavy duty double stick tape??? Spitballing at this stage. I will keep you posted on outcome. If not successful i may hit you up for you guys contact info.

Good day

Thats great news for you Bill. I'm on my 4th set or at least ordered it. trying a different vendor with the hopes that it at least has the right shape.... I really dont want to pull a brand new vinyl top off and have the top painted, but its headed that way it appears:(

Not sure if I mentioned to you, one thing they did was peel back the vinyl top and scraped the felt like backing from the vinyl where it goes over the drip rail and re-glued it before mounting the trim over it and the drip rail. That reduced the overall thickness the trim has to envelop to snap in place. Even though its retro I think the vinyl top adds to the beauty of the car...especially if it was on original build sheet.

Hello Doug,
I would be very interested in what you find out about the drip rail molding you are needing for your vinyl top.
As I have a new Red vinyl top for my 71 El camino that I will be installing once the weather gets nice this spring and I have a new set of drip rail molding's but as I understand it from reading here they will not fit once I install the new vinyl top.
I will also be searching for info as to where to come up with a set of drip rail molding's that will work on an El camino with a vinyl top.

Any luck on the drip rail moulding. I finally have my Elco for the road after five years. Just need to put on the mouding. Tried 3 different sets no luck
