:dontknow: I raced the other night and happened to realize that my car likes to stay in 1st for way longer than it is supposed to. I'm kinda hoping for some easy advice to adjust gear ratios. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind some thoughts on how to get more from my tranny. :dontknow:

Throttle Valve Cable (TV cable). It would be located on the right side of your carb and will run down the back of the motor. I don't have a 700r4 but my buddy does and that's what I've seen on his rig.

I'm sure the old timers will know more about what might be causing this problem but this is what I know.

Maybe this will help.
I don't have a 700r4 but am looking into one.

The TV cable only controls the shift at partial throttle. At WOT (wide open throttle) the shift point are controlled by the governor springs and weights. For lower shift points, stronger springs are required.
