I have the factory SS 5 spoke wheels with what I believe is the original paint. They are 15” and I believe 7” width. Currently running 225 60R 15.

I wanted to use a taller rear tire say 255 or 275 / 60 15. Will these be too wide for 7” rims?

Clint44 do those ones on your 70 work well, no rubs? I have the chance to get a set of Foose wheels with 245/35-ZR18 in the front and 285/30 -ZR20 in the rear, I don't know the backspacing though, trying to find out.
No clearance issues. I'll be taking off the stock front disc brakes and going with a C6 brake kit, from KORE3. The additional caliper offset of those will require a wheel with more backspacing so my new front wheels will be 18x9's w/5.75" backspace.(+18 offset) Tires will be a 275/35/18.

If the backspacing on those Foose wheels is correct, those tire sizes will fit fine, on a 66-72. What year is your car?

255's should be fine, on those 15x7 wheels.

I’m running 275/40ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Comp-2 in the rear on American Racing 9 inch rims. There is about an inch of clearance on the outside lip on my 72.

If your wheels are an 18x9 TT, those have 5" backspace.(0 offset)

I just updated my 72 to 18x8 foose rims.

Currently my 72 Elco has custom aluminum 14" x 6" wheels and they look fine, but I've been thinking of going to 15" wheels and tires.

What style and size of 15" wheels for the front and rear do you think would like best without costing a fortune?

I have a brand new 393 stroker motor to put in it once I get the bodywork done.

Thanks,

Doug
