Got this production info from the GM Heritage Center
1978 - 970 3 speeds & 1,775 4 speeds
1979 - 2,043 3 speeds & 1,771 4 Speeds
1980 - 5,459 3 speeds & 544 4 speeds
1981 - 3,020 3 speeds & 637 4 speeds

Are those production numbers for Chevy El Camino only, or do they include GMC Caballero. My '78 Caballero was a factory v6/3spd, but not any longer, though I still have the original engine and trans in the carport.

they (GM Heritage) are working out of office because of covid & they said will look for the GMC production #'s when back in the main office
