In all my years of wrenching, this is the first time I've heard of painting an engine white. We learn new stuff everyday!

I don't know about the block color. Yet I have heard that painting the heads aluminum can save weight and give 19 more HP.;)

I went with black on the block and hammered aluminum on the timing cover, accessory bracket and rocker covers for contrast. Left the heads bare aluminum. But I don't have a standard old school set-up either. Good luck!

I guess the benefit of a white engine is you'll definitely be able to see any oil leaks. I also went with black for the block, oil pan, and front engine assembly. Treated/sealed new aluminum heads with ECS Rust Prevention Magic.
