So quick wiring question. We swapped out the engine from the 305 to a 383 stroker. New carb, no pollution controls. No ECM. Changed the compressor to one from a 91 Chevy PU (so it would work with the serpentine system)

In looking at the wiring diagram, the way I'm reading it is, the only thing in-between the hot lead on the clutch and the power (from the control panel) is the pressure cycling switch on the drier. Am I right? Also the stock connector to the clutch had a diode across the positive and negative which the new connector didn't have. It it ok if that's not on there?

Thanks!!

Correct on the wiring. One side is the power from the Receiver/dryer switch, the other side is ground. The diode might be built into the connector. It is important, as it prevents a spark back on the line when the compressor turns off.
