I removed the old vinyl from my dash pad and recovered it with black vinyl a couple weeks back. The vinyl was "cloth backed". I used a 3M spray adhesive. Yesterday, I walked past my stack of new/refurbished parts and noticed that most of it was pulling away from the metal. The adhesive is still "tacky". It's obvious that my choice of adhesive was poor. Can any of you folks recommend something that will work?

Thanks in advance folks!

Was it 3M Super 77? I've always had good luck with that...

Did you let it sit after you applied it? I think you have to let it get to a touch dry condition before affixing the material, but I don't know for sure about that particular adhesive.

It was the Super 77 adhesive. I'm suspecting that I either "over-applied" it AND did not allow it to tac up long enough. Thanks guys. Guess I'll give it another try!
