so i learned the hard way that if you get in a bar fight and break someones nose, they could potentially not appreciate the gesture, and decide to punch out a window in your vehicle.

is anyone familiar with replacing a single pane in a 4 pane slider rear window on 73-77 elky ss models? i found the part, but its out of production, and the whole assembly doesn't... disassemble, so i can't replace just the one piece (far left pane)

uhh help?! haha:dontknow:

That's just wrong! At least his nose will heal! :poke:
I'm sure a local glass shop could do it for you.

it seems to happen to everyone i know that winds up with issues with a guy at a bar. the back window is usually the most expensive and the most difficult to fix.
Yeah especially with the heated glass. Remember back in the day of padded landau roofs. You had to remove the vinyl top. Then remove the plastic cap that partially covered the rear glass. Then R & I the glass. Then put everything back. Now THAT deserves a broken nose!

we brawled behind my car, and as the security was escorting him away, he took a swing at the window panel, walking past my car on the left. super dick move, and yeah, now i can't find a fix for it.

i talked to a glass shop, but they said that assembly doesn't come apart. it was welded together from the start, so theres no way to put that panel of glass in... unless i break it all apart and reweld it after...?:dontknow:

I would look for a used part. In fact I remember seeing one advertised not that long ago here in Europe. Mine is the same, 4-part rear window with the sliders. Good luck with sorting this out, if I find a used rear window I will send you a PM.

Perhaps this outfit has a solution (they do have a 3rd gen complete rear window slider for $170): http://stores.ebay.com/slidingrearwindowbackglassslider
