bigger is better on air filters, but you could try this if you are set on smaller

:poke:
well its more of a matter that there are all thous tubes and stuff hooked up to the filter housing thing. it a i want to be able to see the filter and not have to have all the air go through the small hole on the end of it

the big air cleaner you got is easy to remove...
All you got to do is....
1.)take the heat riser off(the metal slinky lookin thing
2.)you can keep the breather from the valve cover, just face it torwards the new air cleaner

thats just about it. it makes it a whole lot easier to work on the car
ok so what do it do with the stuff attached im cornfuzed

Depending on your engine, there should be two lines connected to it. One is a breather and the other is a pvc valve. The breather can be replaced with a $5 standalone breather like on mine and 84conquista's (the small chrome circular thing to the right of both of our filters). The pvc valve, on my engine, is run to a port on my carb but you may not have one on yours. Try asking the man behind the desk at Autozone or Carquest for a good suggestion on what to do with your pvc valve.
what is what here?
