unplug the wire at the valve to see if its the brake system or the parking brake keeping it on. if it is the brake system bleed the opisite side as your leak and it should center the valve.if it goes out and comes back on again you have a hydrolic problem, maybe the master is failing.try bleeding the entire system to make sure you have no air trapped anywhere

If that doesn't solve the problem make sure your parking brake is fully released. Try pulling up on the parking brake pedal and see if the light goes out. Mine had a weak spring that didn't lift the pedal high enough in the released position. It allowed the pedal to drop slightly and turn the light on. But to look at the pedal it looked to be fully released.

please pardon my ignorance but where is the valve located
Follow the lines coming out of the master cylinder down to the side of the frame where they all connect to a distribution point. In the center on top of that you will see a little black rubber cap with a brown or tan wire coming from it. Un plug it and see if the light goes out. If it does follow the instructions above and bleed the system.

it is bolted to the frame where your shift linkage crosshaft meets the frame,it is held on by the same bolts
