When I step on the brake it's going all the down untill it stops my elcomino, it wasn't doing this originally the breaks worked great but slowly started loosing pressure over time (2 months) untill I had no pressure at all. I have break fluid, a mechanic says my breaks look fine. I don't know much about cars. It's a 1980 it had a v6 3.8 but a 350 is getting put jn at the moment. Will the new engine fix this problem? Thanks for any infi

Might be time for a new power brake booster. Do you hear any swooshing sounds from your brake pedal when you press it down? If the problem is your brake booster, a new 350 engine will NOT fix the problem. Have your mechanic check the brake booster. Good luck.

if no swooshing sounds, and no leaks, the master cylinder has gone bad. Normal wear/maintenance item.
