I noticed this is your first post so.............Malice in Wonderland said:I have a 700-R4 in my '79. Instead of a lockup converter, I used a non-lockup so I dont need a controller. I also used a crossmember from gforce which made the swap a breeze. Also, the TV cable needs to have the proper geometry when attached to the carb linkage, holley has a piece for holley carbs and quadrajets that came with 700-R4's already have the proper geometry. The 700-R4 is a great swap mine has a corvette servo, new clutch pak, 3-4 high speed shift, 2200 stall convertor, and shift kit with 3.73 gears...it rocks.
