Do you have to pass any emissions testing in your state?

well i have come to the point of asking my self why do we need catalytic converters? do we legally need them? im going to put on nice straight pipes and new headers and really bump up my engine.

i live in nebraska and i have no idea why would i have to?
you can still pass emissions with no cats......
See no reason to keep them unless your state does emis test with a visual inspection....
Here in CT if you're over 20, don't need emission test...

ok i think i need more explanation on emis testing and why its needed
texas, over 25yrs old, no testing. No idea what Nebraska requires for an inspection sticker... maybe no vehicle inspections at all.
i dont know of or have ever heard of us doing any thing with emis
just did a quick check and we have smog/emission laws at all in nebraska....so in other words by by catalytic converter
then the removal of cat. will not hurt it a bit, may even improve performance a little.

cool, then you are all set. Much easier to modify your motor without emissions restrictions.... Just ask someone in California
well and thats just it im putting on new headers soon and straight pipes and whatever other easy things i can do to increase performance
everytime Donny puts hot sauce on his burritos he fails the emissions test! :new_ukliam2:
