MCS was working in the earlier thread..

23- open/ground m/c solenoid circuit.
heres a few quick tests
see if the MCS Ticks for 30 or so seconds with the key on engine off..
check the connections on the MCS, and the ground to the manifold orECM..
test the MCS with a ohm meter, see if the coil is open or grounded..

don't worry about the other 2 codes yet, the MCS may fix the 45code..
with a new carb, I might check the TPS too, while the meter is out..

Thank you for your reply my mcs never worked I don’t think I remember someone asking me if it ticks in the in position but it doesn’t I’ve notice when I’m driving and I’m come to a hard stop my idle is horrible and I hear a ticking coming from the engine bay as it wants to stall out.. i will give the tps a look I know I check voltage to the MCS and there was no reading

check the fuse, and ECM connections ??
guess I was thinking TPS when I said check the MCSground, it comes from the ECM..

I was referring to this
""quote
TURN THE KEY IT IDLES FOR A SECOND THEN DIES OUT AND YOU CAN HEAR THE AIR FUEL MIXTURE SOLENOID TICKING WHEN I TRY TURNING IT ON SOMETIMES IT IDLES OTHER TIMES IT STALES OUT.
quote""
in this February thread, which we didn't really finish.. yet..
HESITATION AND STUMBLES ON ACCELERATION

if the timing is not set right or not working or the distributor has turned or not connected,
its never going to run right..

not finishing a thread and
starting new threads makes it harder for me / us to keep up, with lots of time in-between..
if we can see what is working, and rule out a bunch of the easy test/check stuff,
along with working on the stuff thats not working. it'll go a lot faster..
this is not just a rant, and no offence to you Jo [it happens a lot]
but letting you know we have to go back and find/read the old threads
to see where we are, and see whats different since then..

it seems like we have more than one problem..
and
if you took the advice to start turning screws on the carb before doing the checking / testing??
then its a bigger more than one problem..
