Today I hooked up a Summit liquid filled fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter and my Edelbrock carb (engine is stock 305)..started the engine cold and at fast idle I read exactly 6 pounds of fuel pressure..I let the engine warm up some then kicked it down a couple of notches and the gauge was reading 4 to 4.5 pounds, then after reaching normal operating temperature it now reads just 1-2 pounds at idle, so I would assume my Edelbrock carb doesnt need a pressure regulator for normal driving, correct?

UPDATE: now the gauge reads ZERO at idle and doesnt move when revved. guess they sent me a defective gauge :(

Let it cool down and removed the gauge, took a chance and blew it clean with an air hose, and now its working again showing 4-5 pounds pressure at hot idle...guess a piece of dirt got in it :dontknow:
