There is discussion elsewhere of the sensor that occupies what I think of as the normal oil pressure sender outlet, at the back of the intake manifold. I believe on the comuter-controlled cars, it is a sender for the choke/oil pressure light.

My question is, as I'm removing the computer wiring, etc., does that sender serve any purpose if the computer is gone? Will it even work, or is it integral to the computer?

It is used to control the voltage going to the electric choke when the oil pressure reaches 4 psi or more.

Mike, the wiring for the choke/sender is part of the engine harness. The ecm wiring is totally separate.

The problem I'm having is that the excellent wiring diagrams posted elsewhere don't have this switch or the electric choke on it. I wish I had traced the wires before I put the distributor back on.

OK, I bravely cut the wires and removed the relay. Choke and A/C still work, so I guess I'm OK!
