Just removed all valves and pistons. A lot of carbon built up on all of them. What is a good a cleaner to use? Can I use scrub pads to clean them? Any help would be great. Thank you

check out some images on my web page.. I have before and after images of pistons and heads..
your best bet for __PERFECT and clean__ is to get them tanked at a motor shop.. its really not much.

You can clean the valves with a wire wheel. The pistons are much softer. Be especially careful of the piston ring grooves.

OK here is what i use ,and have done so on many engines , easy-off oven cleaner in the yellow can, it will clean this pistons,engine block any thing with heavy greese,do not get it on pant it will be gone ! :nanawrench::beer::texas: there thats the secrete mechanic tip of the day !

I wouldnt worry so much about the pistons, but clean the valves.

Easy off works better than anything you guys can come up with ! period ....yellow can
