Because they're cool? I don't know, I saw some for sale on Craigslist and that's why I am asking. Do these give better handling or any other benefit beyond looks?

I guess they are ok... :nanawrench: (I didn't buy the economy ones though, mine were a few hundred more. I don't recall the model number off hand)

And a good distance from my 10" rim w/ 305 drag radials... so no rubbing

- No air ride / air bags for me. I built this car into a beast so I can drive it like a beast. The way I beat on my vehicles I'd blow out airbags in less time than it took to install.

- Note - I also have mini tubs. Fitting a 305 from my understanding is damn near impossible with a stock setup.

I agree, they do look cool. Those QA1's that El Corvino has are awesome shocks and it sounds like you beat on your car in the turns pretty good, perfect for shocks like those.

El Corvino, putting on a 305 and getting tucked up underneath the fender is gonna take some work, but will look sick.

The shocks you looked at don't have adjustable valving, so the biggest upgrade they'd offer is height adjustment.
If you seriously want some, I,d first compare what someone like ridetech offers for a el camino specific application, then check around some more for something I could afford. Also check detroit speed & engineering, They are a good company for aurocross engineered stuff, but ouch $$$.

I do have 305's tucked under with room for 335's.

I have a mini tub in the rear all the way back to the inner wall. The front is all custom. Tubular A arms, 2" drop spindles, QA1 set up as well.

Here is the difference between before and after. Not exactly the same angle, but you can get a really good idea of how much space I gained.

If you click on my links below, I have pictures of all the before and after of everything I've done. Also, I like the benefit of adjustable coil overs because then you can change he ride height for your desired look or for a better launch.
