I'm guessing I need to keep the plastic timing cover?
I know nothing about building a vortec...going old school..as much as possible.
Just a small amount of varnish and buildup.

906 Vortec heads and clean.
I'll be freshening up the motor, new timing chain, water pump, oil pump etc.
The motor was outside it's whole life and will get a repaint.

I want to ditch the electronics,I know I need a Vortec intake,HEI unit, and an electric fuel pump.
Do I just leave the crank sensor and other stuff I don't need where they are at?
125,000 miles and pretty darn clean.
