Hey all,

i needed to paint up some stuff under the hood and i dont know if i used the right paint. please confirm if i am right or wrong. Thanks Guys.

Radiator-heat paint
Engine mounts-Heat paint
Chassis-Flat reg. black
Power steering fluid chamber-Flat black
Intake manifold-Heat paint
Heads- Heat paint

Oh Horeseman, heads were just touch up. I didnt completely reapint the heads same with intake. My paint says up to 500*. is that good enough? My engine doesnt usually get over 175*.

That's your coolant temp, not the exhaust manifold temp & outside engine temp !!

Other than the exhaust manifolds, conventional paints are OK anywhere under the hood. Using paints labeled "engine paints" is a safer bet, but I've used off-the-shelf stuff like Rust-Oleum and Krylon for many years without a problem. Drive it for a while, open the hood and feel around. You can touch just about any surface without burning yourself.
