Hello A friend of mine is selling these headers they were on a 1982 Malibu
he thinks they should fit my 85 with a 305 he's asking $75.00 but does not
know anything about them. I think they look on the older side and is the Air
Pump the only thing I will have to remove if I get them? I saw on another post
that headers don't do much for a 305 so any feedback will be appreciated. If
anyone has a guess of the brand or if they are worth putting on let me know.
Thanks Russ

Can't help with brand but if they were on an 82 'bu they should fit.
If you have a basically stock 305 you will notice very little perf. gains. Plus the hassle installing, changing plugs, leaks.... IMO not worth it.

Only time you need headers is for a race car
You can get the same sound from stock manifolds
Headers are a pain in the butt to work around
You will only gain around 10 Horsepower with them

I think not worth it. The husband said that this would be a big trouble

Flowtech, used them on my El Camino - 84 with a 305V8. I thought the concept of splitting the odd firing cylinder out and joining it to the other three downstream is pretty interesting. On mine I needed to tweak the right side to clear the upper A arm, but I'm running a bit of negative camber so the upper A arm is pulled in.

even though you've already made up your mind -- they look kind of ratty and ready to rust out in spots. Would be better to keep the stock manifolds unless you need headers (new) for some reason.

Thanks I think so too do look a little beat up. I figure if I do end up getting headers down the road I will just get new ones. Thanks for the input everyone Russ

Stock 305 makes no horsepower, just a de-stroked 350. A cam change, bigger heads, intake, more CFM carb or throttle body, you get the drift. You want power, change engines! Headers work well on a 350-400 ci engine, depends on your smog requirements.

When you can get cheap heddman headers, why buy those rusty old things? pass.
