Hey guys, so I was looking at the vin decoder and and it says that I should have a 1973 el Camino custom. What actually makes it a custom compared to a standard? :dontknow:

-Thanks :smile3:

Welcome from Texas! I think it is trim, and options, but I am sure some one knows for sure.

A custom El Camino has the same trim level as a Malibu series plus the VIN will start with 1AD80....where the base El Camino has the same trim level as the Deluxe series in 73 and the VIN will start with 1AC80. Essentially it's a trim level upgrade from the base to the Malibu series.

carpeting over rubber mats, better vinyl materials, more chrome trim, increased price, more engine options. For instance, SS pkg was only available on the El Camno Custom.
