Did Any Elcamino have 3.73 Rearend? Or what Gbody have 3.73 Rearends
Where should i be looking for 3.73 Rearend???

There is mikes thread about swapping to a 3.73, take a look at thatoke: it is a few threads down from yours.

And 5th gens came with 2.41 or 2.73 most commonly. No 3.73's stock

Your best bet for a 3.73 posi rear is out of an 85-88 Monte Carlo SS. Cost is normally 200-300 bucks for a drum to drump setup. Do not buy it unless you can see inside it before purchase. Also, if the rear is out of an 85', it will have standard studs NOT metric like your 86', so your gonna have to get some standard lugs for the rear, or you will ruin the old lugs or worse the studs. If you want to upgrade, look for rears out of Grand Nationals, T Types, Olds 442s, they came with 3.42s or 3.73s, both are 8.5" rears which can hold up to more power. Much more expensive, I see them range 600-1100 bucks for a unit with original internals. The 7.5" is good until you start gaining traction with big tires and 400+ horsepower. Fine for a street application and a mild engine.

If you wanted to keep your axle assembly and just replace the gears look for a 4 cylinder S-10 in the junkyard.

Th-350 Trans-Crossmember Cut Mounting Pad and Weld To back side of Crossmember should give 3inch mount movement for 700-r4 transmission

Will Th-350 Trans-Crossmember have clearence Problems with 700r4 transmission ????

Hey. Swap a 3.73 ring and pinion from any pre 1988 Camaro/Firebird,
S10/S15 Astro/safari minivan. Finding a G-body with 3.73 gears is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

Any 7.5, 7.5/8 and I think the 7.625 . If you need the carrier you need one with 26 spline axles.

any 7.5 or 7 5/8 will go right in our elcos.the olds 442 came with the 373 gear but is hard to find. i have a couple sets at home. but any s 10 or astro is your best sourse for 373 s. i think the axle code is gt4 for 373 s. the s10 and astro carriers are mostly 28 spline except for the real early s10s

if you are looking for a posi. look at the 4 wheel drive s10,look for g80 on the options lable

i didnt check the posts above mine, but your best bet is to look for S10 trucks in the 80s to the mid 90s, they ran the same 7.5 ring and pinion and most of them came with 3.73 and 4.11 rear ends.

the 411 s are very hard to find i have 1 set and they came from a early 2.8 carb s10 with a 4 speed.the most comon is the 342 and 373
