My 1981 El Camino has the original electronic controlled q jet. It's has never caused any issues, I was just hoping someone could shed some light. What exactly does the choke light on the dash tell me? It seems random. Thanks for any input you got.

it basicly means you have power to the light and ground thru the choke heater..
it doesn't mean the choke is actually working or not working..
if its on usually there is a problem, with the power or ground..

if its blinking on/off check the connections and the oil pressure switch
by the distributor.. check the Gauge and C/H [choke heater] fuses..

could be the dash pod connector, anything else in there acting weird ??
