We have it all painted now and have new side running lamps to install,,,But how do you get the old ones out to put in the new ones? Take the fenders off?

The clips are hard enough to get to,,,, but?????

Thanks

Passenger side - pull the battery and you can get to the nuts. Driver side pull the charcoal canister and it can be done.

Those are called speed nuts. They self thread onto the plastic posts. Screw them on and off once to let them cut threads before installing and it will make life easier.

Update 86 El Camino: no luck in getting the nuts removed due to tight space. I tried a ratchet, flex head ratchet and ratchet wrench, but the sockets was too long or too short . It’s a very tight space and difficult angle especially the one to the left will try and send a picture
