I have an 84 elcamino with a Monte ss red interior and earlier today my fuel gauge was bouncing from half full to empty and would sit at empty for a couple seconds then go back to normal. Now it just sits at empty... Anyone have any ideas where to start troubleshooting? And where the grounds are for the gauge

Check the wiring harness along the frame rail by the left rear tire. they have a habit of getting rubbed raw there.
the ground is located just above the e-brake pedal at the front corner of the dash. You have to look straight up. It will a 10mm head bolt.
With the key on try pushing on the lower right corner of the dash pod to see if it is a connection problem with the wiring plug.

Ok...I'll definately try that. Do you know where the ground from the fuel tank sending unit is/ connected to

Just follow the black wire coming from the top of the tank. It goes to a screw on the rear of the body.
