I need a headlight and side marker bezel for my 79 El Camino. It is one piece no. 1 400 835 ABS L.S.
Once before I bought a bezel represented as for a 79 and it turned out to be a seperate piece for the headlight only Then recently I inquired about a side marker bezel represented as for a 79 and it turned out to be part of a multi piece bezel and for the side marker only. Can anyone veryify that the 79s take a one piece headlight and side marker bezel?I bought the car several years age and cannot verify the front end clip was't replaced with another front end:dontknow:

George 78 & 79 are a 2 piece assembly. There is a headlight door GM part # 463 532 for the right (passenger) side and 453 531 for the left ( driver's ) side. "ABS" is the type of plastic it's made of.
The side marker bezels are GM part # 459 234 R/F and 459 233 L/F. These are actually called vertical moldings for the header panel. They mount with 8mm bolts before the side marker is installed.

L/F headlight door for a 1980 is a one piece GM Part # 1400 8335. Are you sure you don't have an 80 grille and headlight doors on your 79?

BOBBY, thanks for the the reply. The part number I need IS 14008335, and it is the number cast on the part itself.. I checked the VIN and the car is a 79 and I have no idea why it has 80 headlamp doors. I think that would mean 1980 front fenders also. If it was in an accident the body guy did a terrific job of installing new sheet metal, fits are really great..I'll just post for 1980 bezels, which I understand are more ready available than 79s, so maybe I lucked out.

Fenders are the same 78-81 so maybe wasn't hit all that hard. Might have just had a broken header panel from someone backing into it and they found a used 80.
