I recently put a new heater core in my 83 and I couldn't get the "clip " with the braided ground strap to stay secure to the new one so i attached a wire to the frame of the new core and ran it to the firewall. What is the purpose of grounding the heater core anyway?

to help cut down on electrolisis. i use a small hose clamp to hold them tight works fine.just dont leave it off

Something to do with the metal & coolant, doing some kind of chemical reaction ?
Or something like that !! I can't remember exactly !!:dontknow: I used a small hose clamp on one of the tubes !!

Thanks guys I'm glad I grounded it even though I don't know why I was doing it.. Now I do.
