I'm replacing my th350 tranny and torque converter in my El Camino soon. I have a 68 with a GMPP 350 HO and GM 12 bolt rear with 3.08 gears. Think a 2500 torque converter is best or should I go lower? Right now I am running a Hughes 2500 stall with a weak shifting tranny. I use this car mostly for street and it is not a daily driver. Most miles are put on in town and rarely take freeway.

2500 is a little high for that tall a gear, the converter will be slipping most of the time causeing a lot of heat around town. i would go with the 1800/2200. 355 or 373 gears you can run more converter around town. unless you want to run a lock up 350 then you can get away with as much converter as you want
