Okay so as you probably all are aware, my 350 in Carlos is screwed up. I still have no idea of what the problem is, and time's becoming an issue as I have to have it up and running by May 26th.
Jim has decided to quit wasting time and money that we don't have on trying to figure out what the problem is, and just try to find another GOOD running CHEAP 350 and swap the engine out, oh and find someone to actually put the new motor in for us CHEAPLY.
I am willing to trade my clattering 350 AND all of the "upgrades" that were just put on it for someone to do an engine swap for us. We'll pay for a running 350 if it's priced reasonably. I don't know where to begin...is my 350 a 2bolt main? a 4 bolt main? how do I know what a good price is for a 350? how do I know what to look for to be sure it's in good shape? how do I tell if it even runs if a motor's sitting on the floor? I cannot afford to get ripped off AGAIN so I'm coming to you guys who I trust totally, to help steer me in the right direction with all of this. Thanks ahead of time, because I know I can count on you guys to chime in on my situation.
Terry

Terry, there is an engine rebuilder in Wakko that does a fairly decent job, somewhat reasonably. I got my 350 for the '56 there. I can't find the paperwork now, but seems to be off 19th street, and south. You might keep that for future references.:smileyb:

Thanks Beepster. I've found my new Elky specialist. No more risk taking for me again on my car. Lesson learned the hard way. Thanks anyway. I appreciate it.

Good point, LockJaw

This is the type of cooperation and taking care of one another that I dream for the entire Association some day. If only we can get the membership to get out and actually meet one another, it will build these kinds of relationships - where you either actually do know one another, or you feel like you know one another very well and, thus, will offer help or assistance when & where needed. But I'm on my soapbox again.................Ken :dontknow: :texas:

10/4 On the getting together it's finally happening a little down here with car shows and thats a good beginning but with all the members close to me in So. Cal. it's a shame it's not happening on a bigger scale. I have posted numerous times that I'm Available anytime and have a house to meet if needed. Theres no finger food here.!!!!:secret::beer::beer:
