I'm in the process of building a 350 to drop into my 5th gen Camino.

I bought a new ACDelco hei distributor but am a little confused by the wiring, i believe i need one "on" with ignition wire, and one wire to the tach.

I have a hei connector with 3 wire pigtail coming out of the distributor body but also have hei connector on the actual cap itself with the Batt+ and Tach markings on.

Is it a case of i can use either connector or does something also get connected to the wiring pigtail coming out of the body ?

Thanks for the help

The lower connector that's circled coming out of the body gets plugged in to the back half of the cap. On the front half, b+ goes to 12v when the key is turned to run and start positions. Tach goes to your tach if you have one.

Your old dist should be the same thing and the correct wires are there for bat+.
